YEAR: c. 1940s - 1950s

ABOUT THE IMAGE: This lovely trimmed production cel of Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse was originally sold at Disneyland's Art Corner store in Tomorrowland. The Art Corner store was open from roughly 1955 to 1966 and was a place guests could purchase production cels and other production art from Disney's animated films and shorts. The titular elephant made his debut in Disney's feature film of the same name and the pose is similar to his pose at about 59:38. Dumbo also later appeared in the opening sequence of Mickey Mouse Club and in the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn and/or painted by studio artists!
