THE ONE AND ONLY: BUGS BUNNY
MEDIUM: Serigraph on fine art paper
SIZE: 19" x 14"
EDITION SIZE: 140
ARTIST: Bob Clampett
SKU: CP1398
ABOUT THE IMAGE: Known as one of the most famous cartoon characters ever, Bob Clampett’s version of Bugs Bunny has emerged as the more irreverent and sassy of the various Bugs Bunny versions. Because of Bugs’ personality, his popularity quickly catapulted him past Mickey Mouse for cartoon superiority. This became particularly true in the 1940's with the outbreak of World War Two, when the population favored more cheeky and feisty characters than the innocence of Disney’s animation. The original art for this print hung in Bob Clampett’s studio office for decades. This fine art serigraph print is enhanced with silver ink silkscreened for the background elements.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bob Clampett was an American animator, director, producer and puppeteer known for his work on the Looney Tunes animated series from Warner Brothers. Clampett was promoted to a directorial position in 1937 and during his fifteen years at the studio, directed 84 cartoons later deemed classic and designed some of the studio's most famous characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and Tweety.
