ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Limited edition prints are reproductions of an original piece of artwork. The giclée prints on canvas are museum-quality prints that last upwards of 100 years. Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers. The run of prints is capped at a specific number. Limited edition prints can be more valuable to art collectors than prints without a restricted number of copies because of the rarity of the prints. Each piece is hand-numbered and embellished by the artist. Each piece also includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: James Coleman is a name synonymous with sweeping skies, tropical rain forests, rich deep woods, and silent deserts. The images created by this talented man continue to delight all that view them. James Coleman’s distinguished history has seen him with Walt Disney Feature Animation for more than twenty years; creating art and backgrounds for animated classics such as “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast“. The contribution made by James Coleman to the world of art over some thirty years – both in film and fine art – has made him one of the most collected artists in the contemporary art world. His work is impressionistic and luminous. His paintings are warm, inviting, and unique. As a true master of color, light, and design, James Coleman’s artwork can be found in many fine, personal, and corporate art collections – including that of the Disney family itself.
ABOUT THE FILM: Peter Pan is a 1953 American animated musical fantasy adventure-drama produced by Walt Disney Productions and was based on the 1904 play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up by J. M. Barrie. Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske, and Wilfred Jackson, it is the 14th Disney animated feature film and was originally released on February 5, 1953, by RKO Radio Pictures.
Peter Pan was the final Disney animated feature released through RKO before Walt Disney founded his own distribution company, Buena Vista Distribution, later in 1953 after the film was released. Peter Pan is also the final Disney film in which all nine members of Disney's Nine Old Men worked together as directing animators. It is also the second Disney animated film starring Kathryn Beaumont, Heather Angel, and Bill Thompson, who co-starred together in the 1951 animated feature Alice in Wonderland.
