ABOUT THE IMAGE: This hand-painted animation cel of Daisy Duck was created in the Disney Ink and Paint Department and photographed during the making of the animated anthology show Disneyland, later renamed Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (1961-1969). The episode, "Donald's Award," originally premiered March 27th, 1957 in black and white. However, this cel of Daisy shows off her true color palette, a pink and purple ensemble similar to her appearance in the 1947 short Donald's Dilemma. This piece comes with a gold "art corner" which certifies its authenticity as an original Disney production cel that was sold at the Art Corner store in Disneyland. 

ABOUT THE MEDIUM:  Original Production Cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
