ABOUT THE ARTWORK: This photostat storyboard was used during the production of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. Please note the two black "ILM" stamps and 3-ring binder peg holes along the upper margin. The artist, George Jenson, is denoted by the "G" near the lower left corner of the image. Jenson had a life-long career as a production illustrator, VFX director, and story artist. He received an Oscar nomination for "Best Visual Effects" on 2010: The Year We Make Contact, the sequel to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
This amazing storyboard print comes from the personal collection of award-winning miniature and optical effects artist Lorne Peterson. His work within the modeling and VFX departments was instrumental to the success of the first six Star Wars films, as well as a variety of other blockbuster hits, including Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. In 1985, Lorne Peterson received an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his work on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
