ABOUT THE IMAGE: Hungry alley cat Butch decides to pass himself off as an orphan infant in order to raid Tom's fridge, in this frantic short. Directed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, the short was released to theaters on 8/14/54. Here's a great hand-inked, hand-painted cel setup created by the studio as a gift. The setup includes carefully trimmed cels of Butch and Jerry added to a 16 field cel of Tom; the kitchen interior background is a production painting from another MGM cartoon that fits well with the cels. Butch can be seen in online viewings at the 1:47 mark; his figure size is 5.25". Tom's cel is at the 5:52 mark, while his figure size is 5.5". Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original production cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate, and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
