ABOUT THE ARTWORK: These photostat storyboards were used during the production of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. Please note the two black "ILMSB521213" and "ILMSB521123" stamps on each piece, as well as the 3-ring binder peg holes along the upper margins. The artist, Joe Johnston, is denoted by the "J" near the lower left corner of the images. Johnston worked on all three films of the original Star Wars trilogy and was most notably the art director for both The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). 

This rare piece comes from Paul Huston's bound collection of storyboard prints. Huston, who served as Industrial Light & Magic (ILM)'s chief model maker during production, provided and maintained storyboards to help develop the necessary model miniatures needed for the film's vast intergalactic sets. He has now worked with Lucasfilm for over 40 years, collaborating on eight Star Wars films and one animated television series.
