Goofy

ABOUT THE IMAGE: Goofy is up to his usual antics in this wonderfully humorous piece of in-studio gag art, blissfully oblivious that he is about to find himself injured by a lion and a piano. This drawing, rendered in graphite with color pencil, was created by an artist who worked for the Disney Publications Department in the 1950s or 1960s. The department published comics, books, and magazines as well as publicity and merchandizing work. This lovely drawing is truly a unique piece of art, made just for laughs. It includes a caption on the top border that reads 'Can you imagine all the extra trouble Mickey and Goofy would have if their motor nerves didn't help them get out of trouble?' We can, but this artist interpretation is even better!
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Publicity or Promotional Drawings are created by a studio artist for publicity display or promotional purposes.
